Fund Development Resource Assistant
Overview of Position
Oak Ridges Hospice is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Fund Development and Resource Assistant to join our Fund Development Team. This role is essential in supporting the planning and execution of fundraising events, maintaining donor databases, and fostering relationships with donors and potential supporters. The successful candidate will contribute to the strategic goals of the organization and uphold our commitment to excellence and accountability in fundraising.
Job Duties
Collaborate with the Fund Development Team Lead to implement the Operational Plan and align with strategic goals
Assist in organizing fundraising events, campaigns, and donor meetings
Support the development and execution of fundraising strategies
Conduct research on prospective donors and funding opportunities
Process donations and prepare donor acknowledgements and receipts
Respond to donor inquiries and nurture donor relationships
Maintain accurate and up-to-date donor databases and records
Prepare donor communications including thank-you letters, newsletters, and updates
Assist with donor recognition programs and marketing efforts
Contribute to the development of annual operational plans and budget recommendations
Ensure compliance with legal regulations and fundraising best practices
Participate in team meetings and support grant application preparation
Engage in professional development as approved by the Fund Development Team Lead
This position is:
Is a full-time position (30 hrs/week)
Ability to work flexible hours, occasional evenings and weekends
Located in Port Perry, Ontario
Salary ($21.88-23.26/hr range)
Key Qualifications:
Diploma or degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field (or equivalent experience preferred)
Demonstrates alignment with the values of Oak Ridges Hospice
Proven experience in a fundraising or administrative role
Strong knowledge of fundraising principles and practices
Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills
Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Proficiency in data analysis and performance metrics
Experience with donor database management is an asset
Criminal reference check with Vulnerable Sector Screening required.
Accountability:
The Fund Development Resource Assistant is expected to maintain confidentiality and act in a professional and ethical manner, consistent with the organization’s Code of Conduct and policies. This position is accountable to the Fund Development and Communication Team Lead.
